FAQ

We have covered the most Frequently Asked Questions below.

I don't have my DNS hosted on CloudFlare, will this still work?

CloudFlare provides the fastest DNS services on the planet, even on their free plans. There is no reason why you shouldn’t host your DNS with them. Our product is geared for websites whose DNS is hosted on CloudFlare. Unfortunately, it won’t work in case your DNS is hosted somewhere other than CloudFlare.

What exactly does this product do?

CloudFlare provides an API to access your website’s DNS records using programmatic means. We have made use of that API to automate the scheduled download of your DNS records to your Dropbox account.

Why Should I get this?

If you host your website(s) DNS (Tip: You Should) on CloudFlare, you should have a regular backup of all your website’s DNS records. We have done the hard work so you should just follow the instructions and set up your automated backups for a life time.

Where are the backups stored?

They get stored in your Dropbox account. If you don’t have one, sign up now it’s free.

How much space will it take in my Dropbox?

A single backup file is hardly 2 kb in size which means in 1 MB, you can store 500 files and in 2GB you can store 1 million files. (that’s a lot of files). In short, for all practical purposes, you won’t run out of your Dropbox space ever.

What all apps do I need?

  • CloudFlare (Obviously)
  • Integromat (a free app)
  • Dropbox (a free app)
